What's on Networking in Surrey this week...

HAPPY NEW NORMAL!

Yet again we start a New Year in a state of flux, unsure of how things are going to pan out.

Some industries and sectors are under severe pressure and have seen their markets decimated. This will doubtless have unpredictable knock-on effects throughout the economy, both here in the UK and globally. Not out of the woods just yet, then.

In-person networking and businesss events suffered another body blow - not because of a Lockdown this time, but simply from a collapse of public confidence in the face of the Ohmygod Variant. At an online meeting I attended this afternoon, exactly half of those present said they were unlikely or unwilling to go to face-to-face networking events in the foreseeable future.

This will only serve to perpetuate the dominance of virtual events in the Networking Calendar 2022 - just how long for remains to be seen...

One immediate casualty of this risk-averse mood is Paul Bridgland 's Surrey Business Expo - already deferred from 2021, and now further postponed until April (Covid permitting).

Whatever develops, Networking in Surrey will continue to Go With The (Lateral?) Flow and keep highlighting brilliant networking opportunities whether on- or offline, for the benefit of all businesses: local, national and global (you're welcome!)
