HATS OFF TO LINKEDIN...
...for the NEW ‘Name Pronunciation’ feature – BUT it may clash with another NEW feature (for the solution, read on)...
A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME...
...would smell as sweet (Romeo & Juliet Act II Scene 2) but getting somebody's name wrong rarely smells of roses! Bad enough mis-spelling it in a message - even worse if you mis-pronounce it to them (maybe in the Zoom Room!)
LINKEDIN TO THE RESCUE...
...with the ‘Record your Name’ feature! You can only do this on a phone using the LI app, but it’s then available in your profile everywhere.
YOU HAVE TEN SECONDS...
...so you can do more than just say your name (check out my Profile here...). WARNING: Just ike recording a voicemail or answerphone greeting, you might need several goes! A glitch that I found is that it can conflict with...
YOUR NEW EXTENDED PRO HEADLINE...
...can now be up to 220 characters on all platforms (previously only possible on IoS devices). You now have more keyword opportunities – but beware! Only the first 80 characters appear in Invitations to connect, viewing profiles, search results etc.
AND THE GLITCH?...
... the LI app may reject your Recording, saying your Headline has too many characters! SOLUTION: Cut down your longer Headline, make your Name recording, then re-instate the long headline. Ta-daa!
